Sarah Huckabee Sanders knocks report she plans to exit the White House

Press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Thursday refuted a CBS News report that she plans to leave the White House, saying she loves her job and that "I’ll pray for clarity and discernment on what my future looks like."

CBS reported Wednesday that Sanders and principal deputy press secretary Raj Shah are considering an exit, “according to sources inside the White House and close to the administration.”

Sanders was asked about the report during the press briefing, saying she currently has no such plans.

“In terms of personnel announcements, I don’t have any to make,” Sanders said during the briefing. “I can tell you that I show up here every day, I love my job. I’m glad to work for the president. Each and every day I’ll pray for clarity and discernment on what my future looks like.”

She also denied the story in a tweet Wednesday night.

“Does @CBSNews know something I don’t about my plans and my future? I was at my daughter’s year-end Kindergarten event and they ran a story about my ‘plans to leave the WH’ without even talking to me. I love my job and am honored to work for @POTUS,” Sanders wrote.

Rumors of the possible departure came as the White House is shaking up its communications and press shops, with aides Steven Cheung and Kelly Sadler leaving in recent days.
