Poll: 66 percent of U.S. voters oppose family separations

Sixty-six percent of those surveyed opposed the policy. The vast majority of Democrats surveyed – 91 percent – opposed the policy, compared with 35 percent of Republicans. Only 7 percent of Democratic voters support the policy, while 55 percent of Republicans support it. When broken down, 86 percent of Democrats believe the government is too harsh, compared with 10 percent of Republicans.
