Sen. Lindsey Graham doesn’t give a ‘sh–‘ if you don’t like him working with Trump

Sen. Lindsay Graham (R-S.C.) has a message for critics who dislike him working with President Donald Trump.

“If you don’t like me working with President Trump to make the world a better place, I don’t give a shit,” Graham said Friday morning during an interview with CNN.

The South Carolina Republican talked about his relationship with the president in an interview that touched on U.S. relations with North Korea and Russia, among other topics.

Graham played up Trump’s negotiating skills in North Korea and said his choice to work with the president even as he vigorously criticizes him on occasion is not duplicitous.

“I’ll tell him when I think he’s wrong, but let me just tell you about the critics. When I worked with President Obama, and I did on occasion, I was a hero. And now I work with President Trump and I’m two-faced.”

Graham has regularly ripped into Trump for being cozy with Russian President Vladimir Putin and has warned that if Trump fired special counsel Robert Mueller, it would be "the beginning of the end of his presidency."

But he has also been a regular golfing buddy of the president’s, and has recently praised his overtures toward North Korea in an attempt to strike a denuclearization deal.

“I trust the president,” Graham said on Friday. “I like the president. I trust him in terms of trying to do things that are big and matter. Here’s what I’ve got. I’ve got a relationship with the president at a time when I think he needs allies.”
