Trump arrives in Singapore

President Donald Trump on Sunday arrived in Singapore where he will participate in a summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Air Force One arrived at 8:30 p.m. local time. The president was greeted by a delegation from Singapore, including Minister of Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan, as he left the plane.

Asked how he was feeling about the summit, Trump said: “Very good.”

Trump was traveling from the contentious G-7 Summit in Canada.

North Korea’s leader arrived a few hours before Trump, and he subsequently met with Lee Hsien Loong, the prime minister of Singapore. “The entire world is watching the historic summit between (North Korea) and the United States of America, and thanks to your sincere efforts … we were able to complete the preparations for the historic summit,” Kim told Lee through an interpreter, according to the Associated Press.
